Shk. Siraj Alhamrani Villa
The clients wanted to be able to wander from one side of the house to the other without knowing what kind of exciting experience lies in store, that’s why we decided to build the house up on a hill but rigorously above ground level. The paths connecting the various parts of the house wind between the marble work. As you walk you cannot help noticing the pools of natural light, trees planted inside the house, stained-glass windows that let through the light but block out the outside. The distribution of space, interplay of light and shadow and a profound sense of privacy, all reflect models of Arab culture. The simple, slender architectural structures are reminiscent of the latest Western design models. In this villa, the two cultures meet each other, as well as the architect meets the client.
