Princess Tarfa Seaside Villa

The princess asked us to design a palace on the shore of Jeddah. A place that would appear to have arisen from a dream, capable of welcoming the great number of people that share with the princess the experience of life with her every day. We sited the palace on a little hill facing the sea, with large windows open towards the sunset, and shaded verandas and terraces on which to take the sun. The house is accessed via a lake, the entrance opening up in the middle of a large waterfall. Passing through this great wall of water, one enters the inner space (or the dream); the space is continuous, articulated through covered gardens and large public rooms for celebrations in the official area, with rooms for everyday conversation in the family area.
